Help for Basic Settings
Use this form to change your basic settings.
Basic Settings
You can change the basic settings your server needs to
run.
To change the basic settings:
- Fill in the following fields:
- Host name - the fully qualified
host name of the machine on which the server is running.
If you want to use an alias, you can specify any fully
qualified host name that is defined for your machine in
your domain name server.
The name you specify on this directive is the name that is returned
to clients.
- Default port number - the port number you want the server to use
when the server is started without the -p option on the HTTPD command.
The valid range of port numbers is 1 - 65535. The well known port number for Hypertext
Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is 80. Other port numbers less than 1024 are reserved for other
TCP/IP applications and should not be used. Port numbers 8080 and 8008 are commonly used
for testing servers.
- Server root - the name of the directory where you installed the server
program.
- Select the Apply button to update your server with
the changes you made to the form.
Select the Reset button if you want to return to
the values that were on the form before you made changes.
